Things that grind your gears

There is nothing more frustrating than knowing mentally how to fix a problem but physically not having the arm strength TO UNSCREW A RUSTY FAUCET.

Ugh, I am so there right now.

Water coming into the basement from somewhere and I think I know where but due to my GI tract not letting me eat or drink for a couple days, I don't have the strength to move stuff away from the area to get a better look so I just keep mopping. Mops are not as heavy as my 150lb old TV. -_-

Mine isn't usually damp, just... sometime in the last month, water started getting in.

Have had a couple relatives suggest DampRid, and I'm sure that's good for humidity in the air, but the damp in my basement is currently all in the carpet because water was actually pooling in it and I can't mop the carpet, so... *shrug* Had a fan blowing on one of those two areas all night, today maybe I'll move it to the other carpet area that got soaked. :P

Thankfully I have an automatic so I can avoid this problem.

I see what you did there.

My husband had to go over to his friend's house to unscrew the oil cap on her car. There's a lot of stuff that really isn't that accessible.

I just got terrible upper body strength and weirdly sensitive hands.

Tailgaters. People who don't use their turn signal. People driving below the speed limit in the fast lane. Trucks in general. Honestly driving is always stressful for me, Texas drivers are as a group so terrible.

I hate driving period. Worst part of my day.

Well tbh, if it's rusty, EVERYONE is going to need a wrench to unscrew it, because it's rusted shut.

I only have a single debit card, no credit cards or anything. My gas and electric and water bills come directly out of my bank account, and I can do the same with my property taxes, but my phone and cloud storage are linked to my debit card, which was supposed to expire at the end of this month.

My new one was sent out on October 6 and never showed. No one took it, because my old ine was still working. I rush ordered one yesterday for delivery today, and no dice. But as soon as I placed that order the bank deactivated my current card, so right now if anything autodebits I'm fucked.

If the new card doesn't show tomorrow I'm taking Thursday off to be a nightmare customer and yell at innocent bank employees until they print me a new card right then and there, even though they're not allowed to anymore; I guess over the last couple years there's been a massive increase in fraud.

Oh, that really sucks. Could you set auto draft to your bank instead of card?

My bank only recently started doing the whole 'expiry dates on debit cards' thing and it's annoying.

That said, this sucks, but I would recommend getting at least one credit card for emergencies etc. I have three but keep a zero balance on all of them so I never pay any interest, but it's good for building credit and having a backup for cases like this or even emergencies (needing new tires, pet emergency etc).

My BIL is visiting. He and my SIL have a habit of insulting my spouse. They seem to think it's banter but it actually hurts my partner quite a bit. My partner's asked me not to say anything or react. I respect their wishes but damn it's hard. I just want to throw him out of our house.

How about the DOT lying that they could get roadwork finished in half a day and the road would be open and you starting a trip the next day not realizing that you would have a detour (with 10% grades! and other roadwork) taking 1 hour and 45 minutes when that portion of your trip was supposed to take 30 minutes? And having an extra hour built into schedule before the appointment you're supposed have so you can get some things done beforehand and then having to race, full of anxiety, to get there just a little behind schedule, only for the person you were supposed to meet not to show for 1 hour and 45 minutes after they were supposed to be there? And not getting finished with your own stuff until way later than you planned? Plus forgetting to bring something to eat? Then going to the gas station afterwards (because that detour) and the attendant has stepped away and you are too done and hungry to wait? And deciding on a different route back (a little longer in distance but no roadwork), one that is unfamiliar, thinking you could stop for gas and something to eat on the way, but not realizing there wouldn't be anything for a long stretch and worriedly watching the gas gauge, trying not to think about your hunger? Finally getting home about 3 hours later than you had planned and having to do other chores now that you're back? And having to make that trip again tomorrow (and the road still won't be open)?

That was my day.
