(Anonymous) 2021-10-28 04:20 am (UTC)(link)For example, I adore the movie Akira to bits, but I'm not blind to the fact that it's deliberately politically motivated to a minor extent, and lots of the characters are violent, vile, and sexist. Also, the gore/body horror factor is nightmare inducing for some.

(Anonymous) 2021-10-28 04:47 am (UTC)(link)I genuinely believe everyone should watch Akira from a history and culture standpoint. It was and remains incredibly influential on multiple genres of fiction and is a contender for the most technically impressive animated film of all time.
