Seeing Dune made me realize that I am just,,, so over the concept of movies that are longer than 2 hours at the absolute MAX. Give me a nice little 1.5 hour movie with some good characters and leave the longer stuff for miniseries or whatever. Or go oldschool and at least give me an intermission lmao. Just something to break up the crushing length of movies these days.

Yeah, when did 90 minutes start being a short movie instead of a standard length one? All that this expansion has led to is movies that are overstuffed with padding and irrelevant sidequests to fill runtime. Shorter movies had to think carefully about the story they were telling and trim it down to the essentials.

Uhhh Dune. I genuinely like the movie but I started getting fidgety, checked my watch, and the film had been going on for TWO hours already. And there was more to come. I came out saying the pacing was a bit slow but I think it's actually that it's just so long.

It depends on the movie. A really enjoyable movie, especially one that moves, can be as long as it wants. But a less interesting, but still decent movie I'd want to be shorter.

Like, I could watch LOTR extended any day, every day. I don't care the length because they are so good. But some movies just drag and I'm ready to be out of there after an hour.

Venom has been my favorite Superhero movie this year because it had the stones, the unmitigated bravery, to clock in at 97 minutes. Truly heroic.
