Although I wouldn't want OP to be crucified for this secret, I think their concern is reasonable because most people aren't into age gap ships. Ykinmkato, but also it may be awkward to reply back "...sorry, I'm not into it. ^^;;"

"Sorry I'm not into it" probably isn't what OP is afraid of. I have lots of friends who ship things that bore me, or squick me, or I just don't vibe with. I can tell them that and it's fine and we're still friends, we just talk about what we do still mutually enjoy.

OP sounds like they're afraid their friends are the kind of people who start accusing people of actual sex crimes if they ship something unapproved. Which is a reasonable thing to be afraid of in the current fandom climate, unfortunately.
