I understand people who get into a movie/TV series/anime, but don’t want to read the book/comic/manga source material. And I understand people who enjoy theorizing.

But when you put those two situation together, I can’t understand it at all. I just can’t relate to potentially having the answers to your theories just being there in source material, and still wanting to wait for the adaptation to continue to finally find out .

I couldn’t wait that long just to continue a story I like. Much less make a public theory that readers already know the answers to.

Theories shouldn’t just be for original stories that aren’t adaptations, so I don’t know why it makes me cringe so much thinking “No, your theory isn’t even close, and I wouldn’t be able to resist finding out if I was wrong if I was you”.
