Re: How do you feel about driving?

I wish I'd learned how to drive when I had half the chance as a teen. If I want to get my license now I'll have to pay to learn at some kind of driving school, which seems like it'd be pretty expensive.

I don't actually want to own a car, but I do wish I had the ability to drive, so I could make use of car-sharing systems if I wanted to, or use my folks' car when I'm visiting from out of town--that kind of thing.

I really don't like cars, tbh. They're a money-suck, and they're terrible for the environment on several levels. That said, I don't judge people for driving, because the public transit currently available to most people ranges from "somewhat inconvenient" to "basically unworkable" depending on one's specific circumstances. We need better public transit systems and we need to subsidize the shit out of them.
