You are definitely not alone in enjoying them all, though it seems to be an unpopular opinion in the fandom. It also seems unpopular to like both the new canon and the EU as if there is only room for one.

Seven-year-old voracious reader me was THRILLED when I learned that there were whole books about these characters I already knew and loved. I'm pretty sure Truce At Bakura was one of the first 'adult' novels I read. But yeah, that also seems to be a 'no, you have to pick one' thing these days and why? Why limit yourself like that?

I think the Thrawn Trilogy were the first ones I read. I lived in the Philippines, and the only english language fiction books the bookstore we frequented had were the Star Wars EU books and the Sweet Valley books. I was a voracious reader, so I read everything I could get my hands on. I still love the EU, and I see no reason to pick either it or the new movies which are awesome in their own right.
