If you had a major life decision to make, would it be pathetic to ask friends for advice? They're old friends, but this is not something we regularly do as part of our friendship.

Definitely not pathetic. It might be a little awkward since it’s not a regular part of your relationship, but asking close friends for advice on major decisions seems very reasonable to me.

It's not pathetic at all, anon! I have a friend like that who I've known forever and we don't really talk about things like major life decisions, but if she came to me asking for advice, I'd definitely want to help her out.
