Blurred Lines by Robin Thick
The Bad Touch by Bloodhound Gang
Sexyback by Justin Timberlake
It’s All Coming Back To Me Now by Celine Dion

I’m a fan of Taylor Swift and individually I don’t consider her songs guilty pleasures. But her music is still a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, purely because I like so much of it. Like, I know the words to over 100 of her songs.

I’m also very ambivalent about a lot of Lana Del Rey’s songs. The sentiments expressed in her music often personify a lot of toxic, outdated gender-role bullshit, and while sometimes she’s deconstructing those concepts, other times she isn’t. In fact, much of what makes her songs so compelling is that they tend to feel like they contain layers of self-awareness and conceptual deconstruction sandwiched between layers of romanticization and idealization of those exact same concepts. It’s a trip. And it’s great music. But a lot of it also makes me deeply uncomfortable.
