I have the fondest memories of being in the xxxHolic fandom on Livejournal back in the day.
The fandom wasn't super huge but it had loads of fics/art/fan-theories and I can't think of a time of ever having a disagreement with anyone - let alone any fandomwank happening. It probably helped that there was one main ship that didn't really have any competition with any other ships that were there.

+1, xxxHolic was a great fandom to be in. Still one of my favorite fandom experiences, hands-down.
