I feel you OP! I haven’t liked Burberry Cumbersome in anything I’ve seen him in, including roles where he’s supposed to be good and not sticking to his typecast. So I would hate to see him as Thrawn.

Of course, I’m not saying he’s not a good actor just because I don’t like his performances. I just don’t enjoy his acting, and I’m sick of seeing him in so many things. Even considering the film industry’s practice of jamming popular big names into everything, Bossanova Cracklepop feels like he’s everywhere to me. I don’t think I have anything against him as a person like I do Martin Freeman, though. It’s just him as an actor that I’m not a fan of.

And just because I could see him as Thrawn doesn’t mean I think he would be the best choice for him. I personally agree with the anon that said Paul Bettany would be a good choice.

I feel the same way. In my perfect world it would've been a Faberry ending, but I had no illusions about that really happening. I always wanted Jesse to come back as a major character after high school and for the two of them to go through character development and end up together on Broadway while Finn finds purpose and fulfillment without Rachel. And yet it feels pretty bad to say that because, understandably, Cory's tragic passing made people a lot more fond of Finn and Finchel than they had been while the early seasons were still airing, when it was a lot more common to want them broken up. And of course I'd trade any plot for Cory to still be here, but I agree that I don't dislike the ending for these characters and always wanted a version of it, just not in the circumstances we got it.

I'm not trying to be callous, but Finchel actually got written so so bad before he died that it would have been a masterclass to have them end up satisfyingly (and glee was...not that), and while I would have rather Cory had not died, I would NOT have preferred the Finchel ending with how they developed Finn into violence when Rachel started dating someone else. I still don't trust Jesse, but tbh, I think Jesse is on Rachel's scheming level so I'm with you OP.

Have you tried checking out 2017 production of Follies, OP? I hated every other Ben I've seen but I've found Philip Quast adds depth to the character and makes him so much more sympathetic. And just in general it's a gorgeous magical production and it made me love Follies.
