It's not your fault if someone else writes a lesbian having chemistry with a male character. If anyone should be blamed for doing something wrong, it's the writer. Hell, maybe her being a lesbian hadn't been officially decided at that time.

This. Creators plant all kinds of seeds for potential future developments down the line all the time, especially in comics. Even if something comes along later that seems to make those seeds contradictory or just never followed up on, there’s always so many possibilities being considered. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out her interactions with Vader were a potential Thing at some point.

[personal profile] op, i'm a lesbian and so many writers just end up writing their "lesbian" female characters as "will-she-or-wont-she" bisexuals and then later "confirm" her orientation depending on audience approval. i'm cynical about that, but not with shippers taking what is already in the source material, if anything they're more honest with themselves than the creators hahahahaha
