I'm really on the fence about it, because I've seen it done in a way that enhances the story, but rarely, and I've seen many many bad fix-it sequels/prequels.

But i do like it when the ~villainized character was actually pretty villainous to begin with, but the author or the cultural context didn't see it that way.

That said, I abhor, hate, despise, loathe, detest, deplore and deride all the "Demeter is a terrible mother" Persephone/Hades redos the kids like. Mostly, because so many people keep saying tru luv stopped by demeter is the original myth, and lmao, not anywhere can you find that.
