It wasn’t better at all in America during that time either. I can’t think of any show made there at the time that sounds as bad as “On the Buses” though, but I’m sure there was something. I’m just glad the 70s are long over, and that things have improved at least a little, even though race relations in America especially still leave a lot to be desired.
