I had one of the worst days ever.

Not bad. Went out for happy hour (we're double vaxxed, boostered, and masked), had a cheese plate and a few kir royales. Walked around a bit, looked at Christmas lights and windowshopped awhile (looks like everyone had a pretty good Christmas, stuff was pretty picked-over). Bought some of my favorite holiday cookies and a milk tea. Came home and now hanging out on the couch, watching football and eating cookies with the dog.

Mine was just weirdly long and tedious. Every day that I haven't had to work over this holiday break has seemed so incredibly long, presumably because work eats up most of my time being conscious and coherent most days and suddenly I have all this time I'm in decent enough shape to do stuff.

In today's case, went to pick up groceries, put some laundry in the washer, folded the stuff that had been sitting in the dryer for a week, and then continued on with the cleaning around the house that I haven't done for months due to the above. My living room seems so big suddenly. My cat is rolling around on all the bare clean carpet in bliss.

My car battery died in a store parking lot and I had to find somebody to help me jumpstart it (the lot was pretty empty and it was near closing), so that wasn’t fun, but I got home and found a late Christmas present in the mail, so that was fun.

Glad you made it home safe.

Oh no :( What happened, anon?

My sister had like a nervous breakdown. So her husband brought her to my house to try and calm her down. I think it was a bad reaction to new meds plus her period. Her phone is missing and she said she thinks she is losing her mind and thinks she is going to die. I got her to sleep some and she finally admitted to me that she asked her husband (who she has two kids with) for a divorce.

I offered to help him find her phone at their house. And it is horrible. Like a hoarders house. It made me sob cuz my nephews live there. So I took the kids and told them they can come back to that house until it is clean. So now I don't know if the phone is missing or if the husband took it. Cuz it could easily get lost in that pigsty.

I offered to do all their laundry. And then, my washer flooded my kitchen twice. So need to get a plumber out.

All this on my birthday. I was going to go out but none of that is happening now.

Geez anon, that is a truly awful day, I'm sorry. :(

I'm sorry, anon. That was kind of you to help out and I hope everything works out for you and your nephews and sister, and that her husband didn't do anything shady.

Got told that the pain I've been experiencing is probably a kink in my intestines, or a tear. It's now the SIXTH health complications that's appeared and will need treatment/surgery in the last two years.

I'm exhausted.

Oh and they can't do anything or check what it is for another 7 months because because I have long covid and my heart/lungs aren't up to the strain of a GA.

My day was okay except we had someone at my work ask for help with a service we don't provide; I explained that it's not something we do, and she was probably thinking of another nearby organization.

She insisted we'd helped her before. I think she has memory issues because she's done this before, and someone on staff always troubleshoots for her. He showed up and fixed her problem, so she complained to my boss that I had learning disabilities (I do, actually, but she's still an asshole) and my boss, the third person to tell her in an hour that she was confusing us with another organization, told her "I can't discuss that, but I'll reprimand her," so I got a mini lecture about asking for help when I can't handle something. Joy.

I've walked other people through her same problem before, but they weren't ableist dipshits. My coworker got several complements in succession for helping members of the public with stuff that's not in our (or anyone on staff's) job description. He's a nice guy, but ugh.

It's like she showed up at a KFC demanding an organic kale and fresh blueberry smoothie and a vegan keto pizza, because dammit, we serve food to the public, so why can't we just honor her very simple request?

still hospitalised, gonna stay here over new years as well.

Sad fistbump tho'. I spent Christmas in a nursing home. I'm out now, but boy did I feel low.

thanks, im still super exhausted. pretty glad I'm staying tho, bc i means 3 meals a day with no hassle and no chores. i do miss my cats. :( theyre being taken care of and i get pic updates but it's not the same.

bah. sorry to hear. i was out mentally since the afternoon of the 24th, so i missed 90% of Chrismas (got admitted on the morning of the 25th). It's only slowly dawning how much i missed. I'm glad i was able to see my godson perform in the church play.

So sorry you had such a terrible day. My day wasn't great either. I've had some kind of flu since wednesday evening. Not COVID, did three tests to make sure. But I do have a fever, sore throat, headache, and generally just achy and tired and no energy at all. I feel like I've been hit by a truck.
