i don't know, i feel like after a certain point the halloween episodes started being dark, violent, and gross for the sake of being dark, violent, and gross. when it comes to the earlier ones i'd agree with you, those are some of my favorites (even if there are a couple that still freak me out and gave me nightmares as a kid).

Agreed. I stopped tuning into new episodes of The Simpsons, but I kept watching the Treehouse of Horror episodes because those were still good. Then they started having a vibe that I didn’t really like and I stopped watching them too.
