This relationship was so much bullshit. Both characters individually are fantastic and their friendship dynamic is A+, and you take all that and piss it away on a shoehorned-in romantic relationship. It feels like another case of a man's unrequited love being rewarded with reciprocation (yes Odo is a genderless shapeshifter but in terms of how we see him in the show, he's a dude) and their "friends to lovers" arc is just super awkward and clunky.

I absolutely love Zelda x Urbosa as a pairing.

But I definitely feel like I missed the train where people were openly indulging this ship, before the Champion's Ballad DLC released.

Now it's downright taboo to pair these two together, and finding any content for it is extremely difficult. I don't know what tags to search that aren't filled with people calling the ship gross or "pedophilic".

I'd contribute art or writing myself on a side account, but I'm honestly terrified of my work being recognized...

Is Urbosa really older than the shark dude they all ship Link with?

I got the vibe the magic was supposed to be a religious thing. “Miracle” and all that. So it won’t abandon you because God loves you. And if that makes you want to vomit rainbows, well, Encanto is a relatively saccharine movie to begin with. (I like it, but it is.)

Honestly, I kept thinking I was more interested by the Miracle in Blasphemous.

I usually hate when the man crushes for a long time and then the girl starts liking him too. But with this ship, I didn't mind. I love these two. Not quite as much as I love Jadzia and Worf, but I do love them. I think Kira and Odo work so well, both as friends and as a couple. And the conflicts and difficulties the had were realistic. And I liked that their ending was bittersweet, it makes them more interesting.

While I'm not familiar with this series... honestly, it's hard for me to watch media involving any degree of fascism since it hits too close to home. I put off replaying games that have you overthrowing a corrupt empire because part of me isn't sure if I'll be too depressed to finish, and the other part thinks I'll let myself get stupidly hopeful about reality only to later get horribly disappointed.

I haven’t played the DLC and am not in the actual fandom, so I don't know about the Urbosa-Zelda age gap, but Link is chronologically older than the shark dude. Zora mature slower than hylians, so I don't know how much older Link is, but Sharkman was a wee boy when Urbosa and the other champions were alive, so.

Granted, Link was the put in stasis for a century, so Sidon outpaced him in physical age. Make of that what you will.

honestly most of the "romance" in DS9 is ham-handed, and imo that's partly because it literally didn't need any. Dax attempting to fuck everything that moved was the real dynamic we all needed.
