All the frequencies, keys and beats your body responds favourably too is hardwired into your vagus nerve and your sympathetic nervous system.

SA There's obviously cultural influences too, but that's the basics of it.

And what I read seems to say it is more that the vagus nerve is stimulated by music in general, not by any particular style.

Did I say style? No. I said frequencies, keys and beats.

I'm going to have to research this, but I'm really sceptical. I tend to be on the side that thinks nurture is more important than nature and that there are fewer things that are strictly or even mostly genetic than a lot of people think.

You keep telling yourself that.

AYRT It's biological, not genetic. There's a difference in this case. Think about it like making a violin. Even if you use base plans you've used before (your genes), the composition of the violin's component parts (your body) is still unique and will affect the tones it makes and the resonance the strings create (the vagus nerve).

I’m with you.

I would be very interested to learn more about this. NGL, I feel like you're probably overstating things, or drawing unproven conclusions, but it's still a very interesting area of study. I may look it up myself, but if you have any favored sources, I'd be interested in reading them.
