tbh i agree

it was never bikinis and loincloths that were inherently the problem it was that only certain characters were sexualized for the flimsiest shoehorned-in ridiculous reasons like "magic" that somehow only applied to hot young women and nobody else, and every straight male creator was trying to pretend like it's totally in-world lore and wasn't objectification wink wink so clever while everyone else rolled their eyes

just sexualize everybody equally, recognizing that others may be attracted to things that do not make your pee pee hard and that's okay and possibly even a great way to reach a broader audience, slap a teen+ rating on whatever it is, and go on with your sexy bikini and loincloth selves

AO3 is a better archive than anywhere else, though. People say you should post on Fictionpress - but it doesn't have AO3-style tagging.

And it's not like there's any harm being done that I can see. It's trivial to exclude original work if you want.

Eh, I get what you say but it very much does happen to male side characters as well. Basically, as long as the characters are not the two main romantic leads, everyone is just there to further the plot for them.

Not having AO3's festering hellspawned morass of tags is a feature, not a bug. The best thing AO3 could do is just junk its current tag system. And nothing is trivial to do on AO3 unless you learn its weird search system.

AO3 has one of the most intuitive search functions of any fic archive. Unless you have the IQ of a glass of water of course.
