I’m the anon who left the very long comment in the original comment thread(sorry, I admittedly have problems keeping my comments brief at times), and my thoughts are still the same: This is still very relatable and understandable, but I would never say it out loud.

Hopefully no anon will get their knickers in a twist at me this time for being “smothering”.

(And yes, I know that was definitely a misunderstanding, and I don’t begrudge that anon anything. Maybe I’d be better at making my intentions clearer, and create less misunderstandings, if I could just keeps things shorter and more succinct all of the time.)

FWIW, that wasn't me. I didn't go back to see if anyone commented on my secret submission at the time, so I didn't even see your comment, sorry.

I appreciate your comment here, though, and I wholly agree; I would never say this anywhere but F!S or some other comm that was designed for similar purposes.

Honestly, I also think there's a difference between feeling like one's taste in music is superior and thinking it's superior. I do not think my taste in music is superior, I merely feel it is--which is a very gut-based thing. I'm aware this feeling is intensely biased, is not based on fact, and doesn't have any actual value as an assessment.

I think you did say that wasn’t you, so I didn’t think that was.

And I totally get where you’re coming from. There is a difference between thinking and feeling. I definitely relate to the secret as a feeling, something you aren’t thinking you’re superior over, just a feeling of pride in your taste of music.
