I'm in MO, right in the middle of the state. It just got warm (forties) today, so I guess the freezing drizzle moved on, heh.

I love snow, and we got a little, but it didn't last. Freezing rain, however, is yes - utterly useless, pointless, dangerous and miserable. Hate it!

Ah, likely a southern part of the same system we're getting the northern end of then, from what I'm seeing on radar. I'm in Michigan and apparently they pushed back our timing until after midnight, and it'll be like 35-36, so just rain which may turn to snow before ending around dawn. I think I can live with this. ;)

Well, it WAS super-chilly, heh. Was 9 when I woke up this morning, gradually has warmed all the way up to 31 and supposed to get warmer still overnight. But yeah, there were a couple days when I was out ogling the fresh falling snow over the creek and forest, and the wind speed was a larger number than the temperature.

But my car heats up fast, and I have a waterbed here at home that's like lying on a giant hot water bottle. And thanks to extreme social distancing, I don't have to worry about my non-existent immune system being stressed by the temps. I can put up with it for a while for the view. :D

That sounds so lovely - I used to go out into the woods when I lived at home/was a kid & teen and just walk and walk and walk. Summer, winter, it was all good. Winter was especially magical...that blue twilight, the hush, the slight creak of the snow as you walked on it.... I loved it.

Yessss. I was like "well I need to clear off my car before I get groceries", but then once I was outside and looking around at how it was blanketing everything, and how quiet it was... "Well gee, maybe I should uh, make sure I can get out of my driveway... yeah, that's it..."

A couple of my faves from yesterday. Amusingly on my way back to the car I passed the same woman I spotted multiple times during spring and summer who was out on the trails with a real camera (as opposed to my phone). I think neither of us were surprised we crossed paths again that morning. :D

Oh, wow, those are lovely! What a gorgeous place to walk - so jealous! :D The only places around here to walk near water and in woods is in the park, which is fine, but I have to drive to get there, and in bad weather that's a big 'no', and in good weather....people. So...not always ideal.

No prob - I take pics out there specifically to share with folks I know who either don't have somewhere like that to go, or who don't want to brave the cold (or in the summer, the heat and mosquitos).

I drive to get there too actually - it's only a few blocks from me behind a park, but with my health issues, best to be only a minute or so from somewhere I can be alone to pull myself together if symptoms spike. Fortunately the trails are pretty solitary. And the deer and rabbits and heron don't mind if I'm sitting back there curled up in a ball for awhile. ;)
