Later knowledge can recontextualise prior knowledge. The revelations around Jimmy Saville didn't stop all the fun bits on Jim'll Fix It from having happened, but it sure as hell made it not fun to remember them no more. That is what a bad reboot does. That is why people say it taints their memories and no longer makes watching the old stuff fun. I know I can't watch the Icheb scenes in Voyager and feel happy about them no longer. Nor any old Who stuff since Moffat and ChibHim Hard In The Neckbnal shat all over it.

This is absolute nonsense. You’re a complete idiot, and you have no idea what you’re talking about. AYRT isn’t “mad”, you’re delusional. Nobody is trying to browbeat you. Seriously, fuck off with this. It’s not even remotely true for the majority of people that reboots and remakes do this. Nobody agrees with you at this point, much less sympathizes with your whining, unless they’re already neck deep in confirmation bias.
