I remember when I was kid and I would watch the show Saturday mornings, and all the episodes were out of order, sometimes one of those early ones would come on and I would think "ugh, not one of the Weird Piggy Voice ones" but I never had a way to figure out why sometimes there was a differnet voice actor - and puppet! it had different eyes! - for her.

watching them again in order now is a fuckin trip, man.

Yeah, it really does show that Henson honestly did not think Miss Piggy would be the breakout character of the show, and thought she would just be a recurring background. Once people started loving her, and the Frank Oz voiced version, they started getting a lot more consistent.
