I used to know a girl who liked to say "A guy's more likely to punch you in the face, but only a girl would stab you in the back." Her intended point, of course, was that she preferred guys as friends because she was Not Like Other Girls, but even if what she said was right, I'd rather be stabbed in the back than punched in the face. At least that only hurts emotionally (...unless the stabbing is literal, but that's a whole other issue). Being punched in the face hurts physically and emotionally.

Guy's can be just as catty but there are a lot of them that are just blunt so they may not be as passive aggressive and sneaky about being two-face. Really one track minds.

But I digress. I always disliked this saying because they're not equivalent scenarios. A guy punching you IS A FIGHT. A girl being mean is being mean because she just doesn't like you or sees you as a way to gain social favor/power by making you miserable/look bad in comparison to her. These aren't the same thing.
