No-Shows

I just finished holding an online theatre workshop (in-person stuff is all on ice for obvious reasons). The group as a whole (~30 people) has been making noises about how they want/need more events to keep in practice. I set up an event with a 5 person minimum. 7 people sign up. The event goes ahead.
I'm already a bit irritated at holding one for 7 since it'd be MUCH more productive with more, and because those who'd been the loudest about needing more events (and whose timetables I considered when scheduling) didn't register.
Event starts. ... 3 people.
We wait the obligatory "maybe they're having trouble with their connection/ finding the zoom link" ten minutes. But still no sign of the missing. And then ... yeah, I went ahead and muddled through the program somehow (it's SUPER tough with fewer people than you expected!).
In my email, 20 minutes after the scheduled time, there's a "oh, I might be a bit late" from one of them - who of course didn't join us in the hour and half we had, and one "sorry, I couldn't make it after all" an hour after the event concluded. From the rest? No word.
Is it REALLY so hard to a) make time for things you claim to want to do, b) be punctual, c) communicate in a timely manner when something goes wrong and you can't make it?

TLDR: Bah, humbug, old fashioned grumpy theatre person is grumpy about people not showing up to stuff they've committed to.

How does one find theatre workshops??? I've really been wanting to attend one. I'm sorry people kinda suck sometimes.
