All my friends love Marina like burning. She's one of my favorite characters in the show as a whole.

..And that's one of my OTPs too.

You're not alone. We just avoid the comms and such because the majority of the fans are assholes(which you probably know) and we don't want to deal with the drama.

00 needs a nicer LJ fandom like whoa.

I remember I marathoned the first season and went to the comm straight off my Marina-love high and well.

It was a shock, to put it mildly.

And now it's like a black hole. I can't help it but after every episode I go back, reading the commments and getting my heart broken.

Same. Well, I didn't marathon the whole first season, I forgot when exactly I started to watch it, but it was somewhere in the middle. I very quickly realized that fangirling in my own little group was much, much safer. If I like a character someone else doesn't, I won't get lynched. And if someone else likes a character I don't, I won't lynch them. I don't understand why so many people don't get that concept. :(

And god help you if you like a pairing that isn't too popular. I thought it was tough to be an FMA fan when I was more into it, but...yeah. G00 is much, much worse in that area. I never thought there'd be a time where I could say that.

DDdD: I don't understand it at all, either. At least when I'm on /m/ I can believe it's just the crazy trolls. I haven't tracked episode commentary posts on LJ ever, mostly for the haterade.

I used to look at those posts. It wasn't very long before I decided that I should stop. I can't even remember the last time I looked at any G00 comms, aside from one for a pairing I like.

But yeah, it is rather prickly in there. I posted in there once for my Setsuna/Marina manifesto and ran right back out.

I only hope that this ends up like the Wing fandom and once the show ends people will start to mellow out and ease up on the hate.

This one makes me giggle even more. 8D

Hopefully. It especially sucks when people can't even ask about where to find fanart/fics, or if there are any comms for a pairing. Because if they were to mention it, the post would become a wankbomb. :(
