Mostly due to lack of time and other fandoms. I love Les Mis as much as I did before - I just don't take the time to actively look for fic or participate in too many discussions anymore.

True. I lack time to search for any fandom right now, as I'm doing research right now for a fic in another fandom (you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find information on what the Paris Commune was like to live in), as midterms and papers time just happened at my school and as two of my professors don't seem to understand that if they both assign full, chock-full-of-information books in the same week, it is not lack of interest that is causing me not to finish these things. (Sorry for the rant there).

That said, are Combeferre and Provaire your favorite characters?

Which fandom would that be, out of curiosity?

I guess! xD They're definitely high up there on the list; I always fumble a bit when people ask me who my favorite character in Les Mis is because I have so many.

Phantom of the Opera actually, but I want a fic that's set within a historical timeframe and explains some of Erik's later personality twitches by basically saying "he survived the Bloody Week. Of course he's not entirely stable after it!" (Think like the barricades in Les Miserables, except times fifty, also, a lot more gruesome by all accounts).

I recently got to a section of the research that quoted some of the Communards on the barricades and they sound a lot like Enjolras' "View from the top of the barricade" speech (using the same structure and everything). Also, several omnibuses were used in the exact same way they were in Les Miserables. Probably a lot of Communards had copies of the book (Louise Michel, one of the names that sticks out from the Commune, apparently wrote Victor Hugo a fan letter and signed it as Enjolras). It's probably a good thing Hugo was not in the city for those 72 days.

My personal favorites are Combeferre, Jehan and Coufeyrac. I think I have a small crush on Enjolras too.
