Okay, then I'm glad we're on the same page re: physical science.


Regarding social psychology/identity formation - yes, I do see the point you're making here. That's been brought up to me before, and I won't/can't dismiss that when I know nothing about it. It could well be that just knowing your sign influences whether or not you act like your sign. I'm supposedly a Virgo, and I do, in fact, fit my sign fairly well. I am, for example, quite critical. Er, case in point.

But this is exactly what I find funny about astrology. Like, I can accept the idea that simply knowing I "am" a Virgo (and I knew that, and a decent amount about my sign, from quite a young age) shaped my personality enough that I "look" more like a Virgo than I otherwise would have.

But (if I recall this correctly), the sun was actually in Leo when I was born. If astrology "worked" in that sense, I should act more like a Leo.

So if astrology "works," it doesn't have anything to do with celestial bodies.

(I realise this is basically what you said. I'm just sort of elaborating where I agree.)


Regarding dismissing it as idiotic - well, see my comment above.
