...Yeah... I don't tend to hang around people that whine about them, but I have friends in actual active fandoms like Star Wars who are like "Today I hit 1000 kudos on my fic I started posting a couple months ago! Yay!" and I'm like... how is a thousand kudos even possible...? I'm just gonna be over here happy time every time I get ONE.

Cause like, I joked before posting my last fic "Well, it sort of broke ME when I was rereading it for final edits, so it should have the desired effect on the three people who will read it."

(It got 4 hits and 1 kudos in under a week. I'm honestly shocked and pleased. :D)

I checked, and you’re writing for Vagrant Story? Damn, that’s gotta be pretty dead at this point. Games fandoms burn out so fast nowadays when they don’t get remakes or sequels.

Yeah, and my OTP was unpopular even when there was a fandom. Oh freaking well, I love their dysfunctional mess and am happier writing it than I was when writing anything else since. :D

I still have a couple of friends who were into it with me 20 years ago who stop by and read now and then, and sometimes do fanstuff themselves! But mostly the hits/kudos come from friends I met in more active fandoms who liked what I wrote there so they followed me over. (Almost everything I write is set pre-canon, so mostly it doesn't matter to them that they don't know the canon, lol. I'm just happy they're somehow entertained.)
