Yeah, really. If that happened to me I'd be very reluctant to post anything further I wrote based on an imagine. If you don't credit them, they might freak out. If you do credit them, the fact that you credited them and wrote an epic-length fanfic based on an idea they liked enough to "imagine" isn't enough?

Edit: Ah, I misread the secret and thought OP did credit the "author" of the imagine and people whined that OP hadn't credited the imaginer enough. Long day. Yeah, if they give you a sentence of idea that prompts something big and cool, doesn't hurt to give them a sentence of credit. But also, wow, if I was in that position I would just assume that the author of this long detailed fic had a similar idea and the guts/time/skill to write it.
