Re: If you could turn any animal into a fully domesticated species

Foxes. I am aware that there are some specialists who keep domesticated foxes but the smell, the destruction of anything they want to scratch/chew and the biting mean you still have plenty of wild habits and there's a reason why not just anybody can keep a fox in their home.

But they're just so beautiful and seem to have elements of both cats and dogs so if I could wave a magic wand and make them suitable for the same set-up that dogs and cats enjoy, I would. They'd need to be walked or given plenty of space though - which not everyone can do.

(Domesticating them would also ruin the "fun" of the absolute blood-thirsty dickheads in the UK who think it's their god given right to rip apart a defenceless animal for sport as well. Even though hunting foxes with dogs is illegal now we all know that members of the police force are often on those same hunts so turn a blind eye.)

Strong Second. I love foxes so much and would love to have one but I am not delusional that a wild animal can be kept like that.

There are those Russian foxes that they've been essentially domesticating for science since the 50's but I doubt I'd be able to get my hands on one.
