Not a comic, but I'd *love* to see an anime adaptation of the Chanur books.

Lions in space! Gritty, hard-science space travel. Space battles and rough diplomacy and political turmoil and that, but also the heroine is running a merchant ship and she has to make bank somehow...

(Bonus for the Token Human politely asking if he can maybe shave, to the ship's crew's complete horror.)
