I love it when the hero or just one of the protags has a combo of high value for others and low value for themselves and so make very reckless, self-sacrificing decisions to the point it lowkey scares the others because it's almost like there's something not quite right with them aside from their intense lack of regard for their life and safety. I'm talking maiming themselves without even hesitating if it means everyone else is okay and them not even considering this all that big a deal or much of a sacrifice.
