There are so many comedians who aren't funny, they're just loud (and SNL loves nothing more than casting them)

SNL stopped being good ages ago

It stayed at a pretty consistently mediocre level of quality for like 20 years from 1995 to 2015. The last few years it really has gone to absolute shit. But they've been casting people who were just loud and unfunny for a long time.

It’s never been as consistently good as people remember, even in the acclaimed years. And there’s still the occasional funny skit even today. Although some wear out there welcome before they end, which is a shame. SNL has always been a mixed bag of quality, it’s just that the good is far outweighed by the bad these days. And I’m not disagreeing that a lot of the comedians are less funny and more loud now. That might just be me being an old lady though, but I still don’t think it’s all bad now, on SNL or in general.
