Snow Days

I really miss snow days. Thought we were going to get 6-7 inches of snow tomorrow. But now it looks like only 3-4 so I'll be going to work.

It looks like I"m getting a snow day Thursday, and we may close early tomorrow. It is supposed to start snowing in the afternoon and it will be frozen over by the evening. Looks bad enough that we have stocked up on food and have charged our emergency lights in case the power goes out.

We're supposed to get 11 to 15 inches of snow tomorrow and Thursday. I don't think I'm going to be going anywhere.

I make my own snow days. If I can't get out of the house because the conditions outside are too dangerous to drive/walk in, or the snow is way too deep, fuck that noise, I'm staying in.

Since I work for a college, I occasionally get snow days... and since I'm part-time flexible and don't get benefits or paid holidays, it's the one time I will get paid when I don't have to work!

Which is sort of hilarious because I work from home due to health problems anyway, so snow doesn't affect my ability to do my job unless it causes a power/internet outage... but I'll take it.

(Given how this week has gone so far, I would LOVE a snow day tomorrow or the next day. :P Allegedly we may get 12-16 inches but this is Michigan. We might not close anything unless the wind chill is also in the negative teens, because that would endanger people standing out at the bus stops to get to their classes.)

We are being warned that tomorrow/Thursday will be SNOWPOCALYPSE, but we shall see. Considering it was 61 degrees for most of today.....

Slightly off topic, but I love the word snowpocalypse.

Even if spellcheck wants to kill me over it.

Me too, man. Nothing to do but stay inside, bundled in blankets on the couch with a hot toddy and a good book. Looks like its getting bad out there, damn...better make myself another toddy...

I feel you, lol.

I miss snow days too. On the one hand, I work remotely. On the other... I work remotely.

*cry laughs at all thread in Russian*
My region is now around 50 cm (19 inches) mark today. And not going to work are only covid related reason. It's pretty though, not gonna lie

We haven't seen a single flake this winter. It's only been below zero like twice. The plants haven't stopped growing since the summer and some of the roses are even blooming. It's really disturbing the weather here.
