i liked encanto, i think it's good and i know it's a kid's movie so naturally the main character gets burdened way more than she should.
anyway i hatehatehate the narrative of a child having been sent to "save" the family from dysfunction when there were 4 wholeass adults (2 of which had not grown up under abuela) who could have at least tried to do something.

Abuela did some shit things, but it feels like it was more gradual and a lot more... Subtle than "she literally made them do things" and more "she taught them they had to pay back the miracles given to them." Which is unhealthy but, you know, I have survivor's guilt, it sucks. You do think that. That you have to earn your life and that perceived debt.
