A spoiler alert for an episode of a 60 year old tv show.

Yes.

This is unnecessary. I think it was even kind of a dick move of Case not to put what the spoiler was for in the spoiler warning, when the secret clearly says what it is, but by the time anyone sees it in the secret they'd know the spoiler.

New fans get into old things all the time. Spoiler warnings never, ever hurt or inconvenience anyone. At most, they're unnecessary and everyone could ignore the warning. But so what? Ignoring a spoiler warning you don't need costs you nothing. Someone always has to snark about spoiler warnings for anything more than a few years old. It's tiresome.

If you come on here, read SPOILERS and continue to read, that is on you.

Secret maker but not the OP

I requested the spoiler warning just to err on the side of caution. Case didn't do anything except include it.

But all it says before the secret is SPOILERS, not SPOILERS for [Name of Series] like it usually does. Case has always been passive-aggressive about not labeling spoiler warnings with names if the secret maker says "spoilers" and only puts the name of the series in the secret. One time there was a secret about a book with the title on the cover, but since I guess the secret maker didn't say "Spoilers for [Name of Book] in the submission, Case marked it "SPOILERS for this." That's just intentionally being a snarky asshole. You didn't do anything wrong; Case chose to mark your spoilers in the most unhelpful manner possible.

...no. I'm not sure why you're so determined to blame Case or paint this decision with such unwarranted negativity, but please stop.

You’re disingenuously reading too much into this just to be an asshole to Case, and inserting passive aggressiveness where there clearly isn’t any. And you’re doing this against the secret maker’s wishes at that, so please heed their words and stop twisting reality into a pretzel just to have something to be mad at Case for.

And I don’t even disagree with you on hey hey hey (as usual)being a bit of an unnecessarily snarky dick about putting in a spoiler warning for an old show. I agree that spoiler warnings hurt nobody, and that it doesn’t matter how old the media is, they’re still helpful to people who haven’t seen/read the work yet. But everything is else you wrote about Case being bad for some reason was complete bs.

Normally, I'd agree with you. I'm a spoilerphile, and even for the spoilerphobes I believe there is a statute of limitations on those, which is much shorter than some people think should be. If this were an episode of Gunsmoke or the Lone Ranger, I'd be right there rolling my eyes with you. The Twilight Zone is a special case though. The whole point of each episode is the unexpected twist.Take that away and the case for the episode's existing goes with it.

Bruce Willis is still dead all along in the Sixth Sense though.

Lol. If that was the case, the show would have no rewatch value.

It's really, really easy to accept that different people enjoy media in different ways. For me, watching something spoiler-free the first time and getting to rewatch it knowing the spoilers are two great, different experiences and it's awesome to be able to have them both.

This. The show is so great because the stories continue to work even after you know the reveal. Otherwise, there wouldn't be any point to rewatching.

I guessed Bruce Willis was dead about halfway through the first time I saw the Sixth Sense. Still a good movie though.

Oh, hey! I guessed it early on too! I'd argue it's still the best Shyamalan movie exactly because you can guess the twist. The others come so far out of nowhere that it's just annoying. It's like if you did a movie of Anne of Green Gables and said that actually Dianna was an alien the whole time.
