Internet spaces are also allergic to the concept that characters aren't real people. This is also why we have antis. They think if you ship a lesbian character with a male character, you're definitely one of those people who tell real lesbians that they just haven't met the right man yet. Because they don't understand that a real person's labels and sexual orientation are one's own that they have a right to, but characters have no feelings or agency; they are dolls, and we fans get to decide how closely we want to follow the story on the back of the doll box when we open it up to play with.
