Yeah, I know, just... retconning stuff for plot purposes regardless of consistency seems to be a thing they do on the show. (And I poorly worded that - I meant it's kind of funny how if you think about it chronologically, somehow Homer was a 90s kid, yet somehow that 90s kid grew up and met Marge in the 70s. XD)

And Marge and Homer are the same age, she got pregnant straight out of high school with Bart, who is ten/eleven, and Homer is 38. Those numbers don't add up.

Yeah, any attempt to make sense of Simpsons time is futile at this point.

As much as I know we're supposed to just turn off our brains and not think about these things because it is a cartoon comedy show, it is rather fun to point out all the stuff that technically doesn't make sense. Like someone pointing out that given the position and phase of the moon through a window in one episode, obviously Springfield is somewhere in the southern hemisphere.

Or possibly it moves. Possibly Springfield exists within their own pocket universe outside the normal flow of time and space, which roams around the continuum at random. (Shelbyville is in a similar situation, always chasing it? Or are they the ones being chased?)

Well it has moved at least once, five miles down the road. The entire town. On trucks.

...Oh gosh that's right. Hahahaha. Forget the pocket universe, it's just roaming the space-time continuum on trucks.

Every time Homer wrecks a town, they have to move it again. So that is once every couple of weeks, I guess.
