That Agatha Harkness winking meme with her gaping mouth maw is the stuff of nightmares.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-11 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
what?

(Anonymous) 2022-02-11 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
It's just a new meme format. Just her doing a goofy, exaggerated *wink wink* face.

Yes I know that, but nightmare inducing? That's weird

Different things unsettle different people.

DA

But the “gaping mouth maw” part is what really confuses me. Does the meme photoshop her mouth to look bigger? If not, it honestly sounds like kind of a rude thing to say about the actress, that her winking with an open mouth is “nightmare inducing”, or describing her mouth as a “gaping maw”. Like she’s a shark or something. Different things can unsettle different people, sure. But unless I’m missing something, it just feels kind of mean having this actress spoken about like she’s a horror movie monster someone put on the Nightmare Fuel page on TV Tropes. What’s next, “and those dead eyes? brrr”?(That last part may just be me making fun of the Nightmare Fuel pages on TV Tropes at this point, I admit it).

With me it is that all Disney series take too long to get to the climatic point, which they don't really deliver on anyway. None of them have stuck the landing, and all of them have too much padding and filler in them. I wish they'd give up on the series long plot, and just go episodic instead. At least then if something misses or underdelivers, they have a new story coming next week.

Wandavision was particularly galling for me, especially how it seemed utterly blind to the fact that its two female leads were both dreadful people. I ended the series loathing Monica more than the military twerp or Agatha.

With all these spinoffs Disney is trying to do, it's like a pyramid scheme of tv shows. And instead of wasting money, it's making me lose interest in whatever they put out. Like, we're not going to establish this interesting character or plot here, it's going to be it's own thing! Then instead of developing what have, they just plant seeds for more spinoffs.

This is exactly my issue with all of them too. Anything interesting that gets introduced won't be followed up on in-show because it's all setting up another spinoff which will set off a third spinoff which will set up a movie in two years where everything is answered. As standalone adventures I feel like I could enjoy these stories (I think this is why The Mandolarian worked far better for me than any other Disney+ show, because it did its own thing and didn't feel like just setting up the next franchise) but there's no good payoff because Disney wants to ultimately save all the major stuff for the movies.

I just...can't tell if Disney isn't paying enough to get good talented showrunners or if they micromanage into oblivion. Or both. God, it's both.

Boba Fett was worth it for the last few episodes

Yeah as soon as Din came back it was like the sun rose on a new day. Everything is beautiful and everything hurts.

Thank you secret maker!

And yeah, Book of Fett has gotten better but I do consider the majority of their shows to be mediocre and I'm not excited by the tripling down they're doing.

I have absolutely no interest in the Hawkeye show or Hawkeye as a character... I just think he's really boring and for some reason I don't like Jeremy Renner very much. However, I loved Wandavision. I am split on an Agatha Harkness TV show. I like her actress but she felt like a wholly unnecessary addition to a story that didn't need a 3rd act villain. I understand it's based on pre-existing source material, but I enjoyed Wanda as the main protagonist and antagonist, so I can't say I'm looking forward to this spinoff either.
