Yeah, there's a lot of "eat your cake and have it too" going on in many corners of the fandom. And I dearly wish that corner weren't so loud, demanding, and also "our way of reading this is the only way".
However, to be fair, there's also quite a few have leaned either completely into the "(predominantly) male-presenting yet genital-less and yet romantically inclined being" route, or into the "beings with the power to change their gender presentation and genital configuration at will and thus the power to experiment with and experience Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the possible pornographic configurations including -gasp!- heterosexuality" route. And some deeply talented flexible souls who do both alternately.
