I didn't go through any stages when my paternal grandmother died. I just had a crashing realization that my childhood was really over. I'm convinced not getting help for it because I felt my dad "deserved" to grieve more than I did contributed to my suicidal breakdown later that year.

With my mom I went through some of them because I had a long time to process it. I know I fell into a deep , on and off depression for the whole year afterward.

You can't really attribute a formula like that to something like emotions I think.
