Yeah, at this point any self-deprecating notes on fic in the tags or summary I just don't even bother clicking on. If you say it's bad I'm going to believe you and not waste my time. Also, if you think it's so bad why do you feel okay posting it? I don't think I shit gold but I wouldn't post something I didn't think nobody would enjoy reading. Even if it's only a few of them.

Yup. I mean, I get where it all comes from but...really, just don't. Very few of us think we're awesome 100% of the time, but putting yourself down in notes every chapter or comment or whatever doesn't make me want to read one word.

Exactly. It's one thing if you don't think it's your best work because we all have that fic that we're not entirely satisfied with no matter how much we tweak it. But if you genuinely think it's terrible, why post it at all? All that's going to do is make you feel worse when people say that it's terrible.
