I was just about to write a comment saying basically this. Secret was just saying a pretty basic thing. I like the content I like and I'm not going to start making or engaging with content in fandom I don't for the sake of appearing a particular way, it doesn't matter if you call me names. That's something we can all get behind. Or at least I can. It's not that deep and especially lame bringing up super dated discourse (female character bashing to get her out of the way of the M/M ship is so, so old and something fans nowadays don't seem to do, the new trend seems to be also making her gay. But character bashing? The last time I came across earnest character bashing was, like, 2010 KH fic that hated Kairi.)

There are still female characters that get hate and are bashed, but a lot of that is coming from fans of rival het ships, like the way FinnRey fans went after Rose Tico, or the way Steve/Peggy shippers went after Sharon Carter in the MCU.

Only one person brought up female character bashing like it was still prevalent, so what’s lame exactly about everyone else merely going “Oh yeah, that was messed up when that used to happen”?
