I'm the opposite of a gatekeeper, tbh. You enjoy the thing and talk about it with other fans of the thing? Congrats, you're in the fandom!

That being said, I paradoxically have a much higher threshold for myself when it comes to fandom lmao. Like, I enjoy the MCU well enough and have read more than a few fics, but I don't really consider myself to be in the fandom because I feel no need to keep up with everything that comes out. Like, I still haven't watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier or Hawkeye, I skip any of the movies that don't interest me. When I'm in a fandom, I'm *really* into it - like, tracking down PDFs of out of print spinoff novels level of into it.

I consider myself to be in MCU fandom, but I pretty much limit it to the movies (though I've seen some of the series content).

I have a completist personality, but like, with Doctor Who, no, I haven't watched classic Who and I don't plan to. If people want to think I'm a poseur, that's fine. *shrugs*
