It depends on the canon for me, but for the longest time I’m in a weird place between casually watching and enjoying the movies and getting into the books/spin off shows/etc and knowing the lore extensively?

Like, I can start a conversation with other people but I’d really have to think of super specific details. Cue ‘you’re not a real fan unless you get this reference from a page of this book or an episode of a show.’

For example, with Star Wars, I’ve always stuck with the movies and didn’t bother with the books and animated shows. So to normies I’m a fan but to hardcore fans I’m a normie.
