>basic as fuck

i don't know anything about this guy but he's apparently a fashion designer who woke up and went 'yknow what i want to look exactly like john oliver' so i believe it

LMAOOO

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
He predates John so if anything I'm finding amusement at John seeing him and going 'yes, this is the exact look I want' LOL

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Does he pre-date John Oliver? He looks much younger.

He won Project Runway in 2007, before John Oliver had his own show, but John Oliver's Daily Show stint (which he's best known for prior to his show) started in 2006, so John's look slightly predates Christian.

I don't care whether he's basic or not, he's the designer willing to dress the non-standard bodied (for Hollywood) women on the red carpet so he gets mega points for that. I mean, Leslie Jones couldn't get someone to dress her and she's gorgeous!

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
This!

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
He's one of the few designers who actively works with, and makes non-standard size people look good but hey go off.

Also low key, when people talk about men who follow more stereotypical gay tropes (yappy/etc) I think the person is dealing with a lot of internalized homophobia

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
This.

And this.

He designs really well for people who have curves, regardless of size, too.

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly!

man don't project your own weird issues onto me

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
They’re not projecting their own issues in any conceivable way, they’re noting that OP(which might be you, considering you said “on me” instead of “on OP”?) seems like they have some weird issues themselves with how they phrased Christian’s demeanor using established derisive language used against gay men. Whether they were doing so accidentally or not.

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they might not have any actual issues in this regard, didn’t know the kind of language they used was considered demeaning in this context, and any possible homophobia was unintentional. They might even be LGBTQ+ themselves, and the whole thing is a misunderstanding. But even if that were the case, I still get where ayrt’s coming from, and agree with them overall.

But you seem to not know what “projection” even means, because you misused it in the same way people who think it’s a word to throw out when you want to pretend you have a point do. That, or you’re acting in bad faith, and are throwing buzzwords at the wall to see what sticks. Those are the only ways your comment makes any sense, considering ayrt is not projecting in any definition of the word. Next you’ll say they’re trying to gaslight and gatekeep.

OMG, it's so nice to meet you Haute Le Mode!!

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
🤣💀

(Anonymous) 2022-02-21 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh Christian. I still remember his original appearance. Your description of his personality is... not off. His catchphrase back in the day was calling everything a "tr*nny hot mess" and wow, that did not age well. The entire mid-2000s did not age well.

That said, I really like him and I don't agree that he designs basic stuff given some of the people he's dressed.

Yeah, I remember his first appearance as well, but honestly, it was nice to see him grow out of all...*that* and into, what seems to me, rather reasonable and well-rounded human being.
