(Anonymous) 2022-02-22 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)It's true that people have a kneejerk tendency to think that things get worse over time. But Hollywood does change over time. And in my personal opinion, the current structure of Hollywood does result in worse films compared to what Hollywood used to make, or at least films that are less to my personal taste. It's a fact that Hollywood is making more reboots, sequels, IP adaptations, and remakes, and less original content now compared to 20 or 30 years ago. There are fewer midbudget movies now then there used to be. People aren't just making those things up - they are actually happening. And for me personally, those changes mean that there are fewer good entertaining movies that I enjoy.
