the literal rest of the world is unified against you on this one

We're right on this one

Oh, I get it. Because half the world is year, month, day; and the other half is day, month, year; so that no matter which way we read it that it is still 22/2/22.

Honestly I really don't think it matters either way and I think people make a big deal out of nothing. Either way makes sense and as long as everyone in the same conversation knows what everyone means, that's all that matters.

This. It’s really obnoxious when people try to start something over minor regional differences(Fahrenheit vs. Celsius, aluminum vs. aluminium, whether there’s a ‘u’ in colo(u)r or favo(u)rite, etc.). The only thing I’ll concede that I believe America should get with most of the world with is the metric system.

Every country where the word for Tuesday doesn't start with the word for two is automatically inferior.

Now watch this thread to see how many non-native English speakers have no sense of humor!

I'm a non native English speaker and haven't even noticed that yesterday was TUesday, thus TWO. Fucking awesome. I'm actually envious now LMAO
For me it's always a planet day in both my other languages. Overall I find it easier to comprehend the days like that (I speak Japanese too as a second language and always use kanji to write days because it doesn't have double first letters and the symbols are immediatly recognizable), but English is neat too.

ayrt

Yes, I very much apologize for wishing you a happy day in the wrong format. Obviously, someone could have real trouble figuring out what I meant if it wasn't in the format they were used to.

The literal rest of the world doesn’t care like you seem to think they do, and wish you wouldn’t speak for them to pretend your petty pedantry is justified.

I set an alarm this afternoon just so I could be a little extra.

I can't wait for 2033 when we decide March gets two extra days just because.
