I get that! Yakuza 7 took the insanity of all the others and turned it up to 11, but the story and characters are still so deep and meaningful!

I hope you enjoy the other games in the series if you play them! They’re not all JRPGs, true, but there’s usually still some elements as far leveling up. And it’s always felt fantastically balanced, just like any good JRPG should be.

I agree with the other anon that Yakuza 0 is a great place to start the Kiryu saga, and that it is one of the best in the whole series! Then Kiwami would be a great place to go from there, as it’s the remake of the first game. Unless you get the urge to play the original PS2 game, which I would recommend if it wasn’t so inconvenient and probably pretty expensive unless it’s emulated. Thanks Sega/Sony :/ I’m also the OP of a different Yakuza secret that’s coming along soon that explains my feelings about that more, and also explains that I’m a very biased source when it comes to to the first game, which I’m aware of and a bit embarrassed about lol.
